In 2023, the audiovisual sector in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation reached a record budget of 43.15 million euros, an increase compared to 41.65 million in 2022. This is partly thanks to a new decree that allows financial contributions from broadcasters and service providers such as Netflix and Disney increases. The sector also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Series Fund, which supported 11 series. The Film Commission's budget increased by 20%, with 13.26 million euros in subsidies in 2023. 688 applications were submitted, of which 196 projects were selected. In Cannes, Baloji's Omen and Paloma Sermon-Daï's It's Raining in the House stood out. Yolande Moreau's The Jolly Forgers attracted the most visitors in Belgium.
