Film icon Max van Praag died on March 28 in Amsterdam at the age of 80. Van Praag, known as director of film distributors United International Pictures (UIP) and Universal Pictures International (UPI), has devoted his entire career to the Dutch cinema sector. He started his career at Universal Pictures in 1969 and was active in the film industry until his retirement in 2008. Van Praag was also involved in various boards and organizations within the film world and remained active as a mentor and film enthusiast after his retirement.
