"Marching in the Dark", Kinshuk Surjan's first feature documentary, is about the struggle of farmer widow Sanjeevani in India against the rising suicide rate among farmers. Following its world premiere at CPH:DOX, where the film received a special mention, it will make its North American premiere at Hot Docs. The film highlights how, despite personal loss and social taboos, Sanjeevani strives for financial independence and a better future for her children, while helping other women in similar situations.
