The celebrated Dutch documentary maker Vincent Monnikendam has passed away at the age of 87. Monnikendam, whose career began at KRO in 1963, was a master at capturing the human condition through his unique and engaging documentary style. During his impressive career, Monnikendam managed to touch viewers with his films, including 'Rayon 69' (1982), 'Lijn 6' (1983), 'De Tiende penning' (1985), and 'De illegalen' (1991). to live on location before he started filming.
