With "Casting Call", director Sharif Abd el Mawla takes a critical look at the film industry, in which an ambitious newcomer clashes with the prevailing norms. He got his inspiration from the reality of young actors with a migration background. Abd el Mawla's previous work includes "7 Moroccans and Jos" and "Jetski".
