Director Nicole van Kilsdonk has made the Telefilm Happy Palace, in which a brother and sister return to the Chinese-Indian restaurant where they grew up. The film discusses the threat to the Chinese-Indian restaurant culture and the changes in Dutch society. During the making, Van Kilsdonk had many conversations with her team about how to avoid clichés or present them with a wink.
