With the dystopian romance Bijt, director Guido Coppis makes his daring feature debut. The film, which premiered at the IFFR last weekend, is set in a desolate world where daylight hardly seems to penetrate. The story follows Mark, played by Reinout Scholten van Aschat, who takes care of abandoned animals in the shelter and has a special bond with his grandfather, played by Johan Leysen. Bites is a film that, according to Coppis, needed the space of a feature film to tell its story.
