Flemish filmmaker Fien Troch has made her fifth film Holly, an intriguing musing on growing up. The film has supernatural touches and humor, and Troch explores the meaning of innocence for young people in relation to the expectations of adults. Holly is a teenager who is seen by the community as an outsider with a gift, but Troch offers no explanations, only suggestions. The film is the result of seven years of work and combines various themes, such as attributing qualities to others, volunteer work and grief.
