Research by the European Audiovisual Observatory shows that the way feature films are financed in Europe is changing. The share of public financing through funds has shrunk, while more money is being raised through tax schemes, such as production incentives. This also applies to the Dutch film sector. The importance of direct government money is decreasing, while the share of production incentives is increasing.
