The Dutch cinema sector has had a successful year, with almost 32 million cinema tickets sold. Barbie and Oppenheimer were the big hits of 2023. Also Avatar: The Way of Water and The Super Mario Bros. Movie attracted millions of visitors. The annual extras were explained by NVBF director Ron Sterk during the New Year's reception of the NVBF and FDN.
