The film Sweet Dreams by Ena Sendijarević opened the Dutch Film Festival this year and has been selected as the Dutch entry for the Oscars. The film, set in the Dutch East Indies around 1900, combines wry humor with deep pain and tragedy. Sendijarević, born in Bosnia and who came to the Netherlands at a young age, reflects on the Dutch past with her film.
