In the Hollandse Nieuwe series, Claire Zhou talks about her short film The Performance, which will premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival. The film is about a Chinese chorister who has to hide her trans daughter from the Chinese Christian community in the Netherlands. With the film, Zhou wants to pay tribute to her own mother and the coming out of parents of LGBTI people. She hopes to one day make a feature film based on her mother's life story.
