The Venice Film Festival has had to replace the opening film Challengers because of the actors' strike in Hollywood. The new opening film is the Italian war film Comandante. The strike affects the release of Challengers, which has been postponed to 2024. The strike has been declared by the American union SAG-AFTRA due to failed negotiations with the studios.
