Dutch filmmaker Leonard Retel Helmrich has passed away at the age of 63. He is best known for his prize-winning trilogy Position of the Sun, Position of the Moon and Position of the Stars. The documentaries provided insight into important themes in Indonesia, such as religious conflicts and social inequality. Retel Helmrich has received several international awards for his work.
