The documentary The Dmitriev Affair by director Jessica Gorter tells the story of Yuri Dmitriev, who investigates Stalin's crimes and is sentenced to fifteen years in a prison camp. The film shows how Russians who dare to stand up against Putin's regime are crushed. Gorter hopes that the film will contribute to a better understanding of Russia.
