The closing film of the Netherlands Film Festival 2023 is Zomervacht, the first feature film by director Joren Molter. The screenplay was written by Britt Snel and based on the bestseller of the same name by Jaap Robben. The film is about Brian's care for his severely mentally disabled brother Lucien during a sweltering summer vacation. The leading roles are played by Micha Hulshof, Joël in 't Veld and Jarne Heylen. The film will be released by September Film from October 19, 2023.
