The Dutch film and AV industry recovered from the corona period in 2022, but streamers recorded a record turnover four times that of cinemas, according to the Film Facts and extras Preview Spring 2023. Total cinema attendance increased by 75 %, while the market share of Dutch film fell from 23.1% to 16.2%. Overall box office increased by 80%, while Video On Demand revenue grew to a new record of over €1 billion, almost quadrupling cinema revenue.
