Greek director Manolis Mavris has won the Next Step Award during Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival for his project Liar Man. The project is about a caretaker on a private island for wealthy tourists in the 1970s, where the lines between reality and imagination blur. Mavris has already won prizes at international film festivals for his short films.
