Nafiss Nia, an Iranian screenwriter and poet, makes her directorial debut with Die Middag. The intimate drama deals with big themes and takes place almost entirely on both sides of a closed door. After years of success mainly as a poet, Nia received support from the Film Fund for her new project. Die Middag premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and was screened at the Movies that Matter festival.
