The Minister of Culture and the director of the Film Center of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation have analyzed the past year and discussed new challenges for French-language Belgian film. There is an uptick in production activity, but audiences are slowly returning to cinemas. Many new projects are in development and there is better funding for Belgian cinema. There is also a new obligation for foreign broadcasters to contribute to the financing of national audiovisual creation.
