El Houb, the passion project of writer-director Shariff Nasr, has won the Silver Curly Tail for best screenplay for a feature film. The story is about Karim, a Moroccan-Dutch man who locks himself in the pantry of his parental home after his parents refuse to talk to him about his sexual orientation. With the film, Nasr wanted to give a different picture of the MENA culture and how it deals with LGTBQ+ issues.
