Eye Filmmuseum and the University of Amsterdam organize the public lecture series This is Film! Film Heritage in Practice, with the theme 'Activating the Archive'. In the first two sessions, guest speakers spoke about audiovisual archiving in a global perspective and decolonization of archives. Giovanna Fossati, chief curator at Eye, emphasized that the vast majority of the world's film heritage has effectively disappeared from view and that it is not only about preserving, but also about stimulating curiosity and discussion.
