Raoul Servais, the Belgian filmmaker and animator known as 'the wizard of Ostend', passed away on March 19 at the age of 94. A new exhibition and publication focus on the wartime memories of the internationally acclaimed artist, who escaped death more than once during the Second World War. The war was reflected in his short films, drawings and watercolours, and in his recently published war memoirs. The exhibition can be seen in the In Flanders Fields Museum.
