The 15th edition of the Movies that Matter Festival opens with the world premiere of Grandchildren of the East by Daan van Citters. The film follows two grandchildren of men who fought for the Netherlands against Indonesian independence and forces them to reflect on guilt, shame and transgenerational trauma. The festival takes place in The Hague and at various satellite locations in the Netherlands.
