Young filmmakers Julian Verkerk and Madeleine Holman are the winners of the North Stars and KersVers competitions. Verkerk won the prize for Best Northern Film with his drily humorous satire Jäger, while Holman won the prize for Best Dutch Film with her animated film Vacht. Both winners receive 1000 euros to spend on their next film project. Noord Sterren is a platform for filmmakers from the provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, while KersVers focuses on female directors or those who identify as women.
