In the documentary 'The Waste Land', filmmaker Chris Teerink examines the effect of reading TS Eliot's poem 'The Waste Land' on the reader. He looks for possible solutions to the uncertainty evoked by the poem and involves economist Guy Standing, among others, who puts forward the idea of a basic income. Despite being a hundred years old, the poem is still relevant and universally applicable.
