After their Telefilm De Nieuwe Wereld (2013) was awarded several international prizes, including an Emmy for best actress, a new collaboration between screenwriter Rogier de Blok and director Jaap van Heusden was inevitable. The result is the film The Man from Rome, for which they wrote the script together. De Man uit Rome is an un-Dutch film that, as Van Heusden puts it, “wants to bring the invisible within the frame”.
