The government opposes European plans to allow telecom companies to impose an extra charge on streaming services and other services that lead to a lot of internet traffic. According to Minister Micky Adriaansens of Economic Affairs, research shows that such a 'toll' only benefits telecom companies, and that consumers mainly pay more.
