'De Acht Bergen', the brainchild of film couple Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, has attracted more than 120,000 visitors to Belgian cinemas since its premiere in December. Since December 14, the Italian-Belgian-French production can be seen on the big screen. But the film is also doing well abroad, says Kinepolis Film Distribution. For example, in Italy, where the story takes place, 527,000 tickets were sold. In the Netherlands, 'De Acht Bergen' has already captivated approximately 87,000 film lovers. The production is the film adaptation of the bestseller 'Le otto montagne' by the Italian author Paolo Cognetti.
