More than fifty years ago, Nouchka van Brakel was the first female director to graduate from the Film Academy. And she continued to make films: The Debut, A Woman Like Eva, Iris, From the Cool Lakes of Death. To mark the restoration of the latter, Filmmuseum Eye is presenting a special Nouchka van Brakel weekend on October 21 and 22.
