De Patrick, Tim Mielants' feature debut, has been selected for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF, June 28-July 6, 2019). The film will have its world premiere in the Official Competition. For his leading role in De Patrick, Kevin Janssens gained no less than 17 kg. The film will be released in cinemas in Belgium on August 28. The Patrick is a family drama about the idiosyncrasies of humanity, about letting go and being happy with who you are. Patrick (Kevin Janssens) lives with his parents on a naturist campsite. In addition to Kevin Janssens, the Belgian-Dutch cast includes Ariane van Vliet, Hannah Hoekstra, Louis van der Waal, Pierre Bokma, Peter Gorissen, Josse De Pauw, Katelijne Damen, Jan Bijvoet, Bouli Lanners, Jean-Benoît Ugeux, Janne Desmet, Tine Van den Wyngaert and Frank Vercruyssen. Tim Mielants wrote the screenplay together with Benjamin Sprengers. Frank Van den Eeden stood behind the camera.
