The Journalism Council has handed out a severe blow to NRC film journalist Coen van Zwol following his review of De Dirigent. The Council judges that Van Zwol reviewed this film “in a journalistically careless manner”. The Council's ruling followed a complaint from Dave Schram, the producer of De Dirigent, that Van Zwol had made factual errors in his review. For example, he wrote that the opening scene of the film takes place in Oakland, California, while it is New York.
