The new documentary about the Chechen star dancer and choreographer Ramzan Akhmadov will be shown in cinemas from Thursday 8 May. In the documentary Daymohk – The Land of the Ancestors, director Masha Novikova tells the story of the Chechen star dancer and choreographer Ramzan Akhmadov and his dance group Daymohk. Ramzan and the group have been given shelter by the current president of Chechnya, Kadyrov. The threat of the abolition of Daymohk and thus the extinction of the age-old folk dance is over for the time being.
