John Singleton died on Monday at the age of 51. The American director suffered a massive stroke earlier this month and has been in a coma since then. John Daniel Singleton was born on January 6, 1968 in Los Angeles. The American was best known to the general public for his debut film Boyz n the Hood. As a 24-year-old director, he received Oscar nominations for best director and best original script for that film. He is still considered the youngest nominee in both categories.
