Waldemar Torenstra and Tygo Gernandt know each other from the film world, but play together for the first time in Baantjer het Begin. "A lot of nice men came in, but we immediately clicked very well with Tygo." Torenstra explains that when he was chosen for the role, a good assistant was still being sought. "We had a lot of fun, it felt like we had been playing together for years." “Waldemar brings a lot of peace,” Gernandt adds. "I'm the busy one and because of that we bring each other to the middle."
