At the NAB 2019 trade show in Las Vegas, Avid confirmed that the new Media Composer 2019 will be available at the end of May. Users get a new panel interface designed to reduce clutter using redefined storage locations to find media faster and task-based workspaces that display only what the user wants and needs to see. The next-generation Avid Media Engine offers features such as native OP1A, support for more video and audio streams, live timeline and background rendering, and an add-on option for distributed processes to reduce turnaround times and speed up post-production.
