Sasha Polak's film Dirty God has been awarded the Dutch Movies Matter Award at the Movies that Matter Festival. Cold Case Hammarskjöld by Mads Brügger won the competition program Camera Justitia. The jury led by Silvia van der Heijden calls Dirty God 'a current social statement par excellence'. In addition to the award, the film wins 5,000 euros. The film, which previously opened the IFFR, tells the story of Jade, a young mother from London. After an acid attack by her ex, she has to live with mutilations on her neck, chest, arms and part of her face. The burns have healed, the scars remain.
