There is great uncertainty about the survival of small digital TV channels in the Netherlands, after the largest cable distributor VodafoneZiggo announced in February this year that it would reconsider paying the retransmission fee. No or much less income from this corner means the death knell for many Dutch theme channels, thinks the trade association ThemaNed.
