The Motion Picture Association of America has released the 2018 THEME (theatrical and home entertainment market environment) report. This report contains all kinds of statistics and lists about the international entertainment market in all its facets in 2018. The Netherlands ranks fourteenth among the box office markets outside North America and Canada. In total, Dutch cinemas generated a ticket turnover of 400 million dollars (approximately €360 million). The top 3 of the list is occupied by China (9 billion dollars), Japan (2 billion) and the United Kingdom (1.7 billion).
