The film rights to the novel Onder de paramariboom by Johan Fretz have been sold to film producer KeyFilm. The script for the film will be written by Fretz, winner of the 2019 Bookstore Prize, himself. "Ever since the Suriname trip that led to the novel, I also envisioned a hot-blooded road film that takes you to Paramaribo," says 34-year-old Fretz.
