A major Dutch war film about the Battle of the Scheldt is in the making, Levitate Film announced on Wednesday. In a response to NU.nl, Alain de Levita from the production house said that it will be one of the most expensive Dutch films ever. "The budget will probably be somewhere between that of Brimstone and Zwartboek. I would now estimate it at an amount of around 15 million euros." The new film is directed by Matthijs Van Heijningen Jr., who made his directorial debut in 2011 with the American prequel to horror film The Thing. The Battle of the Scheldt should be his first Dutch-language film.
