A method that was discredited this week that internet giants Facebook and Google use to collect data about users is also used in the Netherlands, at the so-called MediaPanel. This panel maps people's internet behavior on behalf of the United Internet Operators (Vinex) and until recently Stichting KijkOnderzoek (SKO), in exchange for which the panel members receive a small compensation.
