The book Dear Mama by writer Esther Verhoef is being made into a film by Videoland. The series will be shown on the on-demand platform in 2020. The author says that she signed the contract last summer and that film producer Fiction Valley will adapt the book. Martin van Steijn and Ingrid van Berkum will write the screenplay. The book won the Golden Strop in 2016 and was nominated for the NS Audience Award in 2015.
