In Buddy, Heddy Honigmann explores the close bond between guide dogs and the people who need their help. One slowly lost his sight, the other was felled by the atrocities he saw as a soldier. The dogs have become friends, someone is talking about love. Honigmann looks, listens and asks as we have come to expect from her: digging but without probing, sharp but with respect.
