Writer Gerard Soeteman is already distancing himself from Benedetta, the new film that director Paul Verhoeven is currently making from his screenplay. The 82-year-old Soeteman is very unhappy with the director's emphasis on the sexual aspect of the true life story of a lesbian nun in the Renaissance. That's why he had his name removed from the credits.
