“I have the privilege of being able to choose from what comes to me and I make that choice dependent on whether I have an affinity with the story.” Ben Sombogaart (Amsterdam, 1947) is a busy man. His fifteenth feature film Raphael was not yet completely finished when he started on the next project; he directs six of the ten episodes of the TV series Keizersvrouwen, to be broadcast next year by AVRO/TROS.
