Nico van den Berg spoke to the young director Vincent Boy Kars (28) for VERS Magazine. He became known as the filmmaker with a fascination with porn. His graduation film at the AKV | St.Joost was My First Porn Film and for the VPRO he made the Vieze Film series in which he investigated the porn film phenomenon together with other filmmakers. He recently made Independent Boy, which premiered at the IDFA at the end of 2017. He is now busy with the follow-up to this with VPRO and Halal Docs: Drama Girl. A conversation about visual culture, maturing and the role of music in his films.
