Groenlinks MP Lisa Westerveld believes that the NPO does not do enough for the audiovisually handicapped. She receives support from a parliamentary majority, including coalition parties CDA, D66 and CU. De Telegraaf reports this today. The NPO spokesperson reports to the newspaper that 99 percent of the Dutch-language offerings on the three NPO networks already have subtitles. Sign language interpreters are also used and some programs have audio description.
