Brimstone director Martin Koolhoven finds it strange that some films are immediately given the designation of art house, just because they were not made in Hollywood.
"That separation between art house and mainstream is also very artificial. German, French or Danish public films, which were hits in their own country, are shown in art houses in the rest of the world," says 49-year-old Koolhoven in an interview with VPRO. Guide.
