It takes a lot of perseverance to make a feature film entirely on your own, without the guarantee that the end result will ever be shown on a big screen. Hans Breetveld did it in 2006 with Empty Stomach, a psychological thriller that only ended up in a single cinema three years later, after many rejections and detours. It brought Breetveld little fame, but a handful of positive reviews.
